Bored. Thought I'd have a look at what all the hype is about. Downloaded the app and was presented by sixteen billion offers and games and coupons and vouchers and discounts and specials and and and.

Can I just buy something? Don't be silly, you have to complete the Jungle of Offers level first. Closed the app.

This evening, about a month later, thought I'd have a look, exactly the same again. It just goes on and on, it's insane.

Closed the app again.

Anyone actually had decent success with it?

Well I ordered a few bits. Nothing major, £30 worth of tat. Apparently I get loads of free stuff. I'll update if/when it arrives.

What annoys me the most however is that my Facebook feed is full of Temu ads, for a specific toolbox full of tools. The Facebook posts tell you how many comments there were, but they've all been deleted. Of course when I try and hunt that specific product down on Temu, it doesn't actually exist. Load of rubbish.

So false advertising with non-existent products, an app interface that makes me want to rip my eyeballs out, deleting comments on their Facebook ads. Off to a flying start then.

We'll see what turns up, if anything :D

The ad popped up again, here it is:

Again, non-existent toolbox and deleted comments. Hmmm.

The mangetic bit holder is magnetic in name only, the strength is hilariously weak. I'll be adding a few neodynium magnets to it to toughen it up.

The foam pads are definitely not what I was after, however as nice comfy knee pads whilst working on the bike, they're absolutely spot on, and a pleasant mistake to make.

The magnetic extention pen thingy is decent enough. Also not that strong but as it'll likely only be used for removing and installing shims in an engine head, I can't really complain. I could also stick another neodynium to that too, I have tons of them lying around.

The lamp is much, much smaller than what the app shows, but that was to be expected.

I've not opened the socket set or bag yet, will report back once I've had a proper play.

All in all I'd say it's exactly what I paid for, including the "free" gifts.

According to Temu, I "saved" £216. If there's over £50 in stuff here I'll need to start selling stuff myself, bloody hilarious :D

The state of this

Yes, this is exactly how I opened it. The sockets are all over the place, missing, and are horrendous quality. Like christmas cracker quality. The rachet is missing parts and doesn't work. According to the "free gift" nonsense, this was somethnig like £100 worth a socket set. Turns out, it's actually a *whopping* £4.99:

Don't get me wrong, I knew exactly what I was getting myself in to by sending them some money, but suffice to say that everything they say is absolute nonsense and the stuff they've sent me is woeful.

Ah well, that concludes my Temu shopping for the rest of my life :p

Requested a return on the socket set, uploaded a photo, and got an instant respose "ye we're giving you £13.64 credit lol"

Can't get cash as it was a "free gift".

This is very clearly baked in to their business model, which by and large, is absolute nonseonse.

But do you now feel like a billionaire?

A Zimbabwean trillionaire.

I wouldn’t get tools from there, you can get a racket set on Amazon for £20 ish.

(I just bought a headphone stand on AliExpress)

The socket set was a "freebie", I had to choose three items and this was one of them. Draper stuff is fantastic, for the hobbyist like myself I'll rarely need anything better tbh. I've bought tons of stuff on Aliexpress, had much more success. Temu is a joke in comparison.
