Dunno why so many can't believe it's 10 years since that game, it seems more like 20 years ago that David Seaman last played and the likes of Danny Mills and Trevor Sinclair were in the England squad

Probably Englands finest hr other than reaching the Euro 96 semi finals.

Remember watching that game and whooping for absolute joy when we thrashed and i mean we thrashed the Germans good and proper...mind you didnt last long as gthey were back to thrashing us in a few mths

Big game for me on a personal note as I had just graduated from uni and during that time had (shock horror) 'lost interest' in football a bit :eek:

This was the game that piqued my interest again, really exciting and if I hadn't watched it I wonder if I would have returned to following the game so closely.

Looking back now who would have believed how Owen's career would peter out, he was 21 and seemingly had the world at his feet.

Yeah and you know basically what Germany did between then and now...

Chucked all the old losers, rebuilt the team from the ground up with promising youngsters, kept them together as a unit, and then thrashed the living crap out of us last year.

Whereas England have kept the faith with arrogant tossers as the spine of the team, and have gone backwards under the various catastrophic managers.
