Tenacious D Concert!

I was originally going to the same gig, but delayed buying my ticket for too long :(

Hope you enjoyed it, I was at Brixton last Thursday and it was good fun as always from the D. I didn't think much of the warm-up act but as I'm there to see Master Jaybles and the Rage Kage I wasn't that bothered to sit through a few of their tracks before the main event which didn't disappoint.
 
Not that long back from this very gig!

Enjoyed the opener - very energetic :D

Tenacious D? A bit 'meh' this time I'd have to say - still played and performed really well and played most of the hits (no Master Exploder, Explosivo, Dio, Car Chase City) but the stage show (or lack of) really let them down I think.

The first time I saw them there was this whole thing of starting acoustic, getting an electric guitar, dying when trying to use it, going to hell and forming a band! Nothing this time though :(

Still solid show :)

I saw this too in their Birmingham show a few years ago - presumably this was to coincide with the release of the film. They can't keep rehashing all the same stuff :p

True but maybe a little more effort? :p

Although on thinking about it they may have only come across for Download + a few UK dates so not brought the full stage show with them perhaps? :)

Still fun night :D
 
I thought it was a solid concert and the crowd seemed really into it. I was in the second row of the seated area, so a little too far back to take any decent pics, but I still felt close enough to see what was going on on stage.

They did about half their new album, then did some Pic of Destiny numbers and then moved onto their classic material. I'm glad they closed out with the **** her Gently song, was the perfect song to end on :)
 
Holy thread revivial batman!

Tickets for their UK tour went on sale today, I was able to snag a couple for the O2 :) It appears to have sold out within 15minutes of opening!

Its a pity they are only doing the O2. I saw them also in 2012 (ish)? on the rise of the phoenix tour. Was so awesome!
