Can anyone recommend a tent repair tape/patch?

Reviews of self adhesive patches seem mixed with a lot of people saying they fall off in an hour or two. Do glue on patches exist and if so are they any better?

Any suggestions appreciated

It depends on the type of tent, where the rip is (how much tension is applied to that area) and what the material the tent is made from…

It’s just like sticking a plaster on a boo boo… some areas will hold indefinitely but if it’s on a heel or a knuckle, you need to do extra work for it to hold for a period of time.

Tents are often made out of stuff that glue simply won't want to stick to like polypropylene or polyethylene. It's important to find a solution that takes this into consideration, and to follow any instructions closely.

I can't say I know of anything good off the top of my head but find out what your tent fabric is and go from there.

I can't see anything on the Alpkit website, but reviews say "2000hh waterproofness and is a breathable 190T polyester ripstop material", so I assume it's polyester.

Alpkit sell Stormsure Tuff Tape on their site for tent repairs, so I'm presuming this must stick. Seems as safe a bet as any product i've seen and minimal reviews fom people saying it doesn't stick.

I think I'll go with this unless anyone has any better suggestions or reasons not to.

I stuck something similar on my alpkit tent, not used it since but it's still stuck in.

Can't remember what it was exactly.
