Where to buy cheap resnable tent..

Going to the gt3 meet in may, newquey at some point, and then leeds in august. So need a tent for that... Not 2 exspensive as they dont usually survive intact at leeds...

So anyone now any good places/tents, taht arent too pricey.

think i got our last one at tescos.... its faired through 2 glasters and a womad festival + a couple of other random outings. Get a cheap double skined one and seam seat + waterproof it to be sure :)

always get atleast one larger than the max number of people that are going to be in it! So i'd go with 3, you never know what Sam will do after a few smirnoff ices at the gt3 meet! (except fall asleep in the bbq, thats pretty much a given!)

I got mine from Argos for the OcUKOMGWTFBBQ last year. It was quite cheap and pretty easy to put up.

I got a 2 man which was big enough for me (bulky chap) and all my gear :)

Abso-bloomin-lutely! Unless you fancy sleeping on your gear?

just thought of something else. I prefer the tents where you pich the outer layer first and then hang the inner from there. It means that when you pithch in the rain the inner stays dry.

i bought a 2 man jobby from argos for £15, used it 3 times, its pretty decent especially for the price. Dead easy to put up too, 5 minutes and any numpty could have it up.

edit - pretty waterproof too, all 3 of the times I used it were in the rain, one of which it was left in torrential rain for hours, I never got wet and neither did anything that was left in there.

I liked your tent with extension set-up, very clever

Why, thank you sir! [curtseys] I'm quite chuffed with the way it turned out myself. :)

Always good to have storage for muddy boots, etc that isn't inside the tent itself IMO.

Thermal - no. It keeps wind, rain and snow off so that you only have to heat up the air in the tent a little, and the inside of your sleeping bag a lot. That's the way they're designed to work.

As far as good quality goes, look for Terra Nova, Mountain Equipment, Vaudé, The North Face to name a few. But think what you're going to be using it for. If you're going to be camping out for the weekend on valley campsites in summer, you won't need an expensive, 5 season base camp type tent.
And by the same token, you wouldn't pitch a £29.99 Argos special halfway up Everest in a blizzard!

The Vango Gamma 350 & 450 are very good for 3 season use, flysheet first pitching and the porch is very useful. And when we were on Skye I also found out that the 450 will stand up to a Force 5 or 6 wind! When I woke up around 0800, I realised that over half the people who'd been there the night before had packed and left! [/smug mode]

£4,299.99 & £3.50 P&P :D

The 2 Meter Dome sets the standard for expedition tents. This tent is an unparalleled 8 person expedition headquarters.

Yeah 8 VERY friendly people, check the diagram!
