I played the Korean retail and did enjoy it. I will not lie I got bored before level 20 however I put this down to...
Being in Korean, kind of made certain things hard even with an English language pack!
Lag, while the game was very very playable having a 200ms ping did kind of suck.

Style looks quite nice, similar to wow but better. Proof will be in the playing as with all games (especially mmos)

I think what's different about this game is that there's no target lock instead you need to aim with you mouse so makes more interesting.

I've been keeping an eye on it for the last little while, you are pretty much bang on but until you get into a game you can't be sure how it's going to turn out. The animation and style of TERA are more akin to Asian style games which could be a nice change. For me the biggest question is how much of a grindfest will it be and how is PvP implemented once released.

I dont' mind a little grind in a game, same could be said for modern FPS as you grind your way up the ranks to get better equipment, even games like Saints Row: The Third have a grind element to gain money and respect. It's whether it's fun doing it which is the big issue, I never felt like I was grinding a skill in Ultima Online etc.

Community makes/breaks MMOs regardless of the grind.

That's gonna be a problem for most MMO vets, Asian style games are a dime a dozen and even more tiresome than the western market.

If there's one thing I can pull away from my experience in asian MMOs is for the most part, their movement systems are horrendous. I'm not talking slow or laggy I'm talking, so bad I can't even bring the will to explain.

The click to move or mouse point follow with tacked on WSAD.
If it wasn't the case, I'd have played a lot more of them, I just can't get past it.

It's hard to tell with Tera from what I've seen.

They really are not, they have been dumbed down so much it's stupidly easy to level now.
