Surprised there is not a thread on this already.
So Terasic released this nearly two years ago, but over the last few months it has seen a large amount of interest due to the FPGA gaming scene.
In short a random Atari FPGA project got ported to run on the Terasic, which became known as MISTer - since then a ton of programmers have got involved and started to release other FPGA cores. There is still along way to go but releases and updates are coming quick a fast. The Terasic has a better FPGA chip than any of Analogues (https://www.analogue.co/) products - so you can get an idea of the potential here.
I had to get mine imported from the US and is substantially more expensive than a RPi at about £130, and then you need a SDRAM board which is another £20. But if your into your retro gaming, its definitely something to pay attention to.
