I am currently with Carphone warehouse and my contract ends at December and eventhough I want to send them a notice for termination from now, they are saying to me that I cannot do that and that this would only result with me being disconnected earlier(and will thus be liable for the remaining monthly fees).

Is this really the case? I could be wrong but I was always under the impression that you could give a notice for termination at any point of your contract, by stating when it is wanted to be done(i.e. after the 12th month in my case).

Normally I don't doubt (as much) when customer service reps tell me something but Carphone seem to be a special case where their statements would have to be approached as doubtful until proven right.

what do you mean you are with carphone warehouse? since when are they a network provider?

ok so your contract ends in december, but you want to give 30 days notice now, right?

well in that case, it would end 30 days from now, but yes you would have to pay for the remainder of the contract until december, or whenever the minimum term is..

Sorry, I am with 02 but via Carphone(E2Save,to be precise)

Thanks for the clarification! I have no problem to wait though I prefered to get this out of the way.

the way to cancel with O2/e2save is that you have to phone them up and asked to cancel the contract (you will then be given the 5min talk about what they can do for you if you stay)after that you still want to leave they will give you a REF/No for cancel your contract. Then you have to send a letter to carphone warehouse stating the same Ref No and you want to cancel or else nothing will happen.(Make sure sent RMRD!!)
You can only do that when you are 30Days from your contract end.
Just done it. And yes it is very hard to do but possible.!
