Theres a scene in one of these episodes where John Connor reprograms a Terminator to discover how it archives information and what he could get off the chip. Then he hears a dial tone, some mush like 56k dialing up, which is where the Terminator is downloading data, in the past, from a server, which must be in the past. It then targets John to be terminated and he pulls the plug.
I dont get why this avenue wasnt explored further.
Surely if you can record the dial tones, you can get a location on where that server is, which would essentially be current day Skynet, and therefore go to that location and destroy Skynet ?
The only explanation I could think of is Skynet placing a server somewhere in the past just incase the Terminators get corrupted and need to redownload information otherwise they would have no mission goals ?
Thoughts ?
