I realise the OcUK forums might not be the best place to ask about this, but they've always been helpful in the past.
I've been writing a terrain generation application (in C++), using the method described on this website: http://freespace.virgin.net/hugo.elias/models/m_perlin.htm
Having been under the impression the site described the 'Perlin noise' technique I've now been informed that it might use fractional Brownian motion. After thinking about it for long enough I've realised I don't have a clue. If anyone can enlighten a foolish student as to what the heck is going on I'd be incredibly grateful. I'll even show you my marvellous terrain.
