Hello.

Bought myself one of these cards, and after pulling out a few chunks of hair, Ive managed to get it to work well.... well almost!

Firstly, this card absolutely ****** all over my previous TV card - Hauppauge HVR-1300. With that card, the computer would crash when IR remote software was active (it had some conflict with Dual Core processors which NEVER got resolved). And the recorded mpg files were virtually unuseable in any editing package. But this Terratec fixes those problems, together with quicker channel selection and dual tuners. And better sensitivity from the tuners too!

Now... the only problem Ive got now is recorded TV playback. If I record a program, and then play it back in the Terratec HomeCinema software, the video plays back with so much stutter its unwatchable. Yet when I play that same recorded video in another program eg PowerDVD, it plays back perfectly. I can change the video/audio renderer, VMR9 onn/off in HomeCinema to any selection, but it still stutters. I can timeshift and the video plays perfectly.

Any one encounter these problems? Anyone work out a way to solve this? Latest BDA driver/HomeCinema installed.

Cheers.

Well.... new HomeCinema app has a checkbox in options to `use all CPUs`. When I remove the tick and check in Task manager, indeed only 1 core is being used, but it still stutters when playing back a recording. Can someone else check to see if recordings play OK in HomeCinema? Recordings play perfectly in PowerDVD, and watching TV & timeshifting is absolutely perfect.

Youre right.... Im not happy. Well... I wasnt until I sorta fixed it.

In recording options, I changed MPEG file format from program stream (.mpg) to transport stream (.ts). Now, when I play a recording in HomeCinema, it plays perfectly :) . Anyone know what the differences are? I can still edit these files as I could with normal MPEG recordings, so Im very happy for now.

I dont know about lipsync problems, but I will keep an eye out for that.
