Hey guys, i've been having an absolute mission getting this damn thing to work properly but i seem to finaly have it running perfectly. i'm going to do some serious testing tommorow to make sure.
If you guys are having trouble getting this card to work, try this setup:
First use 2.60 drivers if you Have installed any others already, dont worry you dont need to reinstall windows you CAN install the newer ones via the device manager - update drivers. Next Uninstall ANY mpeg2, AC3, decoding software, which includes the bundled PowerCinema software (which i believe is probably the biggest causes of the faults). Once you know your system is clean (note you dont need to uninstall xvid or any codec outside of AC3 and Mpeg2) you can test this using media player and a dvd.. you should get a nice error saying cant play due to not having the correct hardware/software installed. your liveTV should also no longer play.
Download and try Nvidias PureVideo decoder trial, This software has all the Mpeg2/AC3 codecs youll need. with the 2.60 drivers and just this decoder. I have so far experienced better DVD playback (sharper images) and perfect playback and recording of liveTV through media center. This also applies to playing ALL sound through the Spdif.
Sadly the nvidia software is not free, but you do have 30 days to see if it works ok for you.. then buy it. its not expensive and if it solves the problems like its seems to have for me.. i would rather pay a few extra quid and either RMA the card or wait for drivers which "may" work
Cheers
