terrible connection speeds

just moved to canary wharf and live less than a mile from the poplar exchange and have o2 8meg service. just been doing some speed tests and getting not even half meg down and in some tests the upload speed is greater then downloads. any ideas on how to fix this? E14 despite being all offices and new stuff seems to have terrible speeds :/

any sugestions welcome

Rather than inaccurate speedtests, what's your modem connected at?

using the o2 box atm and this is all the info i can get about the connection

cheers for that an i think it may apply, spoke to o2 yesturday and cos poplar hasnt been enabled were using adsl rather than the adslplus or whatver it is, but still 512k is shocking, they did say lines takes up to 10 days to stablize is this true? we only went live about 3 days ago.

If you're using BT Wholesale, it's possible the problem's your IP profile.

The BT Speedtest should show what it's set to, but it should increase on its own.
