Has something changed on Iplayer have they begun using a higher compression codec?

I'm trying to watch a show and its blocky and pixelated beyond all belief?

im on a 10mbit VM connection..

Service has been flawless for weeks.

as far as I know iPlayer should auto scale the quality depending on your connection speed. It might be that you're being capped by VM (the capping period is in effect currently). maybe try a broadband speed checker just to be sure?
