Terrible FPS

Have you set BIOS to factory defaults? Could be some setting overvolting your CPU?

Even if your pump was failed or something obstructed I would expect at least a little bit of time befire the water heat soaked and resulted in such high temps.

OMG what a difference. Thank you all for the help. Can't believe how unresponsive my PC was until fixing this issue. Even Windows is smoother and more responsive. I hadn't realised! Haven't tried gaming yet - I need to go wash the car. lol.

Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120.

Just running fixed curves for now, with CPU at 75% speed, and still pretty quiet. Idle is now at 45ºC (Room is about 23ºc).

I took the opportunity when binning the AIO to take the x3 silent wing fans and use them on the case. (The Corsair ones require a cable from the PSU which I do not have spare). So I'm pleased to get those up and running at long last!

Paste wise I thought I'd try Thermalright TFX instead of MX-6.

I'll look to tear open the AIO out at some point.

Thanks!!

Glad you got it sorted, Thermalright has some cracking HSF's for the price tbh.

Their TFX paste is about on par with MX4 tbh, nice that you get a syringe for multiple applications vs a sachet or pad too.

Thanks! Although I do think I have the fans incorrectly placed. After a wee looksy online. So I'll double check that again tomorrow just to make sure. :) Can't complain for the price.

Yeah, I thought you might from looking but it depends on your case setup.

In a standard case you want them on the opposite sides pushing air to the back of the case.

Just to close this one off. Thanks again all. I've correctly fitted the fans today, and played GTA V:Enhanced. Back at 4K with FSR3 Quality and High RT preset. Now getting 100+ FPS. Happy Days. :)

I know this didn't turn out to be a GPU issue, so apologies for posting here. I initially thought it was. So here is a picture including my GPU to make amends.

Cracked the old pump and pipes open on the Be Quiet AIO. Looks like it was gunk and debris blocking the water channels.

This was from the pipe where it hits the 90º bend, that link the pipe, to the rad. They look to reduce down in diameter so I figured perhaps a good area for gunk to accumulate.

Then on the back of the pump. Unknown white blobs in the channels.

Then on the plate side. More gunk on the fins (underneath the white plastic).

Mystery solved.
