Terrible PC performance in certain games

Hi everyone,

I recently bought this: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-022-OP with the ATI Radeon HD 5570 and I've been having a lot of problems with certain games.

Does anyone know what might be causing this? For example, in the new Medal of Honor I can play on Medium with Fraps running without lag (high without it) but I can't play games like Darkfall Online or League of Legends without getting horrible FPS (5-30 max). I haven't had a chance to try a lot of other games but this is extremely annoying and I was hoping someone here might know how to fix it?!

Thank you!

the gpu you picked isnt really good, get either a gtx460,5850,gtx470,5870 or wait for the november 6xxx series..i think its the gpu causing it and have u tried overcloking the cpu?

Threads like this make me a sad panda, to think the OP has spent all of this money to have his PC fail at the vast majority of New games. :(

My personal view is sell the graphic card you have (it would make a really good HTPC card by the way) and get a 5770 or a 460.

i know the feeling.
got a 5870 and it's been dung, STALKER runs like a dog in a bath full of syrup.
and i spent £320 on that card.

edit: although to be fair it is only the stalker games that suffer, everything else flies.

these devices lose their value massively too.

i'd agree with the others, flog it and get a better one.

is a it a 5570 or a 5750?

What res are you gaming at?

Like others have said the 5750 (let alone the 5570 which isnt a gaming GPU) is entry level for PC gaming, at higher resolutions and with more eyecandy on it will struggle.

the minimum i would recommend is a 5770 (or the Nvidea 460 768 version), keep in mind there is a AMD refresh this month so prices will change a bit.

If you have only just purchased the system give OC a call im sure they would swap it out for you.

Speak to OC and see if you can return it/swap it up to a 5770, particularly if you ordered recently.

If not, sell it as others have said, and buy a 5770/460/new 6 series in a couple weeks.
