so i installed it once on my newish Opty 170 and put on AS3 (my old paste) at stock volts and my temp would rise above 50C under load, right now im at 1.4v and idle temps sittiing at 50c which is pretty lousy

Pretty bad temps arent they?, i reseated it and this time put the paste that came with the heatsink on it.. i made sure it was making good contact.

i also managed to bend one of the fins accidentily with the screwdriver as i didnt have much room the first time i reseated it.. i bent it back though..

Oh btw, im using the YS-tech 120mm 125CFM fan that i also bought from ocuk.

i was looking at removing the IHS but that might be more trouble than the worth of it because i also have to file down the bracket.

what can i do here?

ive reseated once i dont think that is the problem, im sure i did it right the first 2 times.

if i remove the ihs ( which is hard for me anyway cos i have bad nerves ) then i need to file the bracket down properly.. i dunno if i can do that, i dont want to screw anything up

if it is known dfi boards show inaccurate temps how come other ppl with the same processor, board, heatsink and fan that doesnt spin as fast have much cooler temps than mine?

o and i tried for like 15 mins to remove the ihs, i cant seem to get it off.. cant get the stanley knife under properly and i tried pretty hard
