Terrible WoW performance under Vista

I am getting really bad frame rates when there are more than five people on the screen.

The strange thing is I wasn't last week. Performance seemed to change after I installed the Office service pack, so I uninstalled office and every other program I am not using at the moment. Vista is pretty much a fresh install (two weeks old) with SP1 installed.

I have run a virus and spyware scan, defragged, cleaned using Tune up and CCleaner.

I thought it might have been WoW's addons so I deleted all of them.

Any ideas?

Have you installed the correct and newest drivers for your gfx card?

I have ran WoW under Vista 64bit for a long time now and never had any issues with it being slower than it was under xp.

Yep I have the latest drivers installed. I can't see why it has started happening though as it was perfect last week.

Bring up windows task manager and see if there is any process hogging the cpu(s)

I remember the blizzard downloader would cause problems when it was downloading new data for patch in the background and it really killed the game, I changed it to start when I log out of wow....

It seems there are a few people having the same problem as me and not just with Vista.

There is something pushing my CPU to 100% but it is not showing in the Task Manager. The Task Manager only shows three services including wow that are using about 50%.

No I haven't.

My spec is

AMD 3000+ @2.1
2GB RAM
A8N SLi Deluc
8800GTX
480W Tagan

Maybe my graphics card isn't getting enough power anymore. I have a 520W arriving tomorrow. But I can't see it being the graphics card as it was fine before.
