UK terror threat level raised from substantial to severe, home secretary announces

Keep that fear boiling over. What does this mean for the avaerage UK citizen?

usually not much... just that intelligence/events (e.g. xmas attempted bomb) suggest possible imminent threats..nothing usually comes of it

Lets not forget the last suspected plot. A major bomb plot if I remember correctly with those 12/13 men detained in the wake of the Bob Quick fiasco. Weren't they all released, not charged and some deported?

Outside of London, does a terror threat even mean anything to anyone? Lets be honest they arent going to bomb Norwich etc are they?

The IRA used to bomb right across the country so don't think that terrorism is exclusive to London. Also, think of the attack in Glasgow more recently.

But seriously, the only time to get worried about these terrorist warnings is when you know exactly where and when the supposes threat is...And you just happen to be there!
