Iran shootings: Parliament and Khomeini shrine attacked

Armed men have opened fire at the Iranian parliament and the shrine of Ayatollah Khomeini in the capital, Tehran, Iranian media report.

At least one gunman fired shots inside parliament, wounding a guard, news agencies said. There are conflicting reports of other people hurt.

There are also reports of a shooting at the mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini, the founder of the modern state.

A witness told Reuters news agency that the incident at parliament was over.

Security forces had massed inside and outside the building, the witness said.

I see there is no outrage of a terrorist attack due to the majority of victim faces not being white and due to the fact this has happened outside of the west, typical OCUK forum.....

Yeah it's been 5 mins on a Wednesday morning, no outrage atall. Most are probably waiting for the job centre to open.

If you want the actual topic discussed, don't lie in the title. You hijacked your own thread.

Epic trolling by the OP. Any mod able to correct the title?

Same at The Independent

You think it would be wise to put Tehran or Iran in the title.

Leaving aside the obvious falsehoods here, I'd like to point out that I've never seen outrage from non-Western countries whenever the West is attacked by terrorists. I guess it must be because the victims are white and the event happened outside the East?

Something happens in your international neighbourhood then it's likely to prompt a strong reaction, out of that immediate area and the reaction diminishes, the further away the less the reaction. This is nothing to do with race, religion, nationality or any other factor. It's not that people don't care, it's very sad these things happen anywhere but the closer to home they happen the greater the outrage and sympathy will be.

Its almost a daily occurrence in the middle east these days whereas the attacks in the West are very few and far between
