I went onto Wikipedia this morning for a quick browse only to find this article featured, it has left me truly amazed how someone can be so strong and do so much in the face of so much adversary. Absolutely incredible the amount of drive and determination that must take.

It makes me realise how lucky I am to have what I have in life and how little I am doing with it. In 2006 my mum was diagnosed with cancer and I have tried to do a few things to fundraise for it; running a half marathon, doing a 20mile overnight hike and a 300mile cycle ride, but nothing anywhere near this. This has made me realise I need to do more. It has always been my dream to cycle coast to coast america, but I have never properly put any thought into it. I think this is the turning point which will make me start organising it. :)

cool story bro.. but felt I had to share my epiphany with someone!

Ahhh Terry Fox, i remember him doing his run across Canada as it was televised on the TV...he had to end his run at Thunder Bay which was about an hr from where i was raised.

Truly an amazing guy with lots of ambition...for him to run all that distance in all sorts of weather takes guts and drive.

Was a sad day in Canada when he passed away in 1981:(

I visited his monument while out in Thunder Bay a few years ago, pretty inspirational. Strangely enough the day i arrived back home in UK from there a documentary of it was on TV..
