I'm looking for destilled water, tried ASDA now in Tesco... Only thing I can find is Tesco ironing water but it's fragrenced... Is this ok?

No,the fragrence will have all aditives ect you don't want,go in.any car spares shop and ask for a few bottles of de ionized water

If you didn't manage to get any yet.. We (tesco - employee) sell deionised water in the car care section of most super/extra format stores.

Wow, please tell me you didn't sign up just to mention this? If so then I implore Tesco to give this man a raise! :p

Glad you got ya water in the end just a shame is wasn't raising my share value at the same time!

Quick question. I read something about the irons moving away from the water after an amount of time. True?

irons moving away from the water?

you mean like irons for clothes? or iron bars? :p

im going to assume that you meant "ions"

well de-ionised water has had the ions taken out which is good because the ions are what change the electrical balance in the water and cause corrosion (from what i remember from my steel structures module)

anyway, if left exposed to air for a long time, the ions do dissolve back into the water which i guess is why they tell us to bleed and clean out the WC system every so often :)

Our Asda sells Carplan De-ionised water at £1.50 for 1.5Ltrs. I guess you will only find it in the larger stores though.

yeah I checked the car section... I reckon they were sold out too, I must say the tesco staff were significantly more intelligent than the ASDA ones. I usually refuse to enter ASDA

that is correct, there are ions in the air that will dissolve back in the water if it's exposed. Most common is CO2 as a result of a person breathing. it's not only corrosion that will be caused by ions but also lime scales (think about the kettle) so it could clog the blocks etc
