Tesco mobile has some very good deals on sim only. Thinking of jumping ship from O2.

Does anyone have any experience or views on Tesco Mobile.

Cheers
Jason

Yep i've been on Tesco for just over 12 months Sim only and it been great. The other half has just swapped too, from O2. Not had any problems, I like the ability to set a spending cap, and the telephone support people are UK based.

Been using a Tesco mobile sim only for a while... initially sucked for data throughput, but ever since 4G became available in the area it's been quite reasonable.

Cost wise can't really be beaten

Thanks for the response.

Yes i'll probably move over. You won't believe but I currently only use voice / text on phone! The nearest masts near my house are O2, so Tesco is fine as it uses these.

Currently paying £11.50 on Sim Only for 300mins (have a land line at home), unlimited text, 250MB data (that i don't use) with O2. Been with O2 since 2004, but O2 offered very little so most likely going to jump to Tesco.

Tesco run on the O2 network so its only price difference, the data speed/network cover etc should be the same as when you were with O2 surely ?.
been with Tesco for the last 5 years and I have no reason to change

Thanks again.

Also another question, I need a PAC from O2 to keep my number. Is this something they simply give me over the phone then I read back to Tesco Mobile, or is it done operator to operator.

What is my best plan. Take the new Tesco mobile contract (put Tesco sim in spare phone), then cancel with O2 the same time as getting PAC code. I'm in a rolling contract with O2, from what i'm told it's not even 30 days, and can be cancelled immediately.

Thanks again
Jason

PAC's are normally given by text or email, but sometimes can be given over the phone.

Also, you need to supply Tesco with the new PAC, its not automatic.

Probably best get the code (you get 30 days to use it), give it to Tesco at the point you sign up to them, and once Tesco process it, O2 will cancel your current contract. You may be given a temp phone number by Tesco until the PAC is fully completed :)
