The manufacturer, i.e the developer, i.e the people that make the games........

i.e The next game they make will be £x more expensive, as will every other developer.

Doesnt matter who it is, or how it is dressed up.

But if the game is crap nobody will buy it or the same thing will happen. Its life.

IMO, nobody really loses out badly. Developer wont care, tesco wont care, OP wins.

because we are already paying more and more for our games because of people doing this and pirated games.

So the people that are losing out are the people that are buying and playing legitimate games.

Yeah big companies don't care because it's not going to bankrupt them right? They still make lots of money. So, is it OK if I steal £5 from you? You won't notice it in the long run, it's not significant compared to what you earn a year. Thought not.

I can understand to an extent, it is a crap game.

But what if you go to the cinema and it is crap?
what if you go to a club and the DJ is crap and there are no hot girls?

for some stuff like food you get to complain after but for most things you don't unless it was mis sold or faulty.

It's personal prferance really, one mans buggy game is another mans favourate game. it is upto the shop imho as to whether they will help out or not. Just be glad you bought it from Tesco and not some almost out of business local games store or you would feel guilty/ not get anything.

Get Modern Warfare, Killzone or Gears of War. you know, games that like people have like played and recommend.

I bought the first Operation Flashpoint about 10 years ago and thought it was ok at the time. seemed more tactical than your average game but wasn't for me either.

Still it isn't really fraud, they replaced the games on goodwill and could have tested if they cared, Game don't have to accept the games without a receipt. It isn't like he filled out a massive signed form detailing the events to his insurance company etc.

These companies make so much money that it isn't worth the effort for them. if it was then they would do it. you don't get home or car insurance simply paying out without proof because they would go bankrupt where as this doesn't dent profits much evidently. Bit of both.

I'll say it again, you should have the option of redress when the product isn't satisfactory.

You wouldn't accept a car with wobbly wheels, you shouldn't accept a program with wobbly or broken coding either.

Minor bugs which dont ruin a players gameplay experience are fine. Ones that are so severe that you cant believe how they didnt get fixed before release are not.

You should really have checked reviews before buying the game.

As far as I know, games have to pass general quality testing before they are released so saying its buggy and therefore no good wouldn't work.

However, if you explain this to Tesco they may well help you out, they tend to be VERY lenient when it comes to returns.

Reviews are not accurate, as reviews for DA2 proved to be. Thankfully they actually released a demo of the game first, but it did nothing but make them lose loads of sales.

I have to concur with this.

Mags and editors get courted and nibbled also, and sometimes the review period isn't even them getting a copy of the game. Dev spoon feeds them it.

Don't bring DA2 into this. Magazine reviews are not quality testing.

Saying the game isn't as good as you thought it would be (ie. DA2) is not valid grounds to return it.
