well we all know how bad most 3rd party warranty schemes are when it comes to paying up, I have a Tesco finest warranty on the Cayman and had to make a claim for an ABS fault

took car into main dealer yesterday, they diagnosed fault ( wheel sensor ) and ordered part, I rang Tesco who told me to get dealer to ring them

Dealer phoned this morning, car fixed ( £254 ) and Tesco billed direct

Superb TBH ( though the less said about the C200 CDi loan car the better ;) )

Excellent, thanks for the feedback. Been looking at the Tesco finest warranty for my CTR I've just bought, and although a lot of people recommend them on the net I've not seen many post about how they handle a claim. If this is the norm for them then I think I'll be taking one out.

Out of interest, did Tesco do a pre inspection of your car prior to the warranty being valid to see if there was any existing faults like some of the other warrenty companies do?

was worried it was going to be a complete slate here as i have insurance with them but no ... all sounds good :) (heres hoping there just as good with insurance)

I need a new clutch, which will be around £300. Tesco will give me 'Standard' cover for £200, which includes wear and tear on clutches. They wont come and inspect the car and see it already needs a new clutch.

Win?

Good quick result :), and Tesco do warranty now, christ they have got there hands in everything.

Last year a mate of mine who is doing Business or some sort of Business course at Uni told me £1 in every £8 spend in the UK goes to Tesco, through petrol, shopping, clothes, online, direct etc....

there might be an exclusion period on w+t items

The £200 plan says it covers MOT's. Does this mean if a car fails an MOT and it will cost £500 to fix everything they just pickup the bill?

it seems third party warranty companies aren't that bad, I had it 2 weeks ago were I was having issues with the finger print scanner on my A8. Had to take it to the main dealer in bristol - they said the MMI ECU was faulty - contacted my warranty company ( WMS ) and they agreed to pay £740.00!

I had to pay £75.00

not a bad result after all :p
