Tesco's seems to offer very good value.

Tesco's = £10 a month for a 12 month contract = 1000 mins, 5000 txts & 1GB data. (Well it seems it's an extra £2.50 for 4G)

Three = £9.90 a month for a 12 month contract = 600 minutes, 5,000 texts and 1 GB data. (4g with 3 is free.)

Is Tesco's any good?

Tesco's use O2's network, so not sure what it's like, but 3 "allow" tethering on their one plan, ymmv on other plans.

Go with a 30 day plan to see how they work out for you in regards to network coverage.

I'm not sure what Three like now, but when i got a three phone a few years ago it had poor reception outside the inner London and when in tried to cancel there customer service was appalling. In the end had to write letter to CEO to get contract cancelled in the end. I'm now with Tescos, who use 02 network, and am happy with them but haven't tested their customer service yet.

Obviously this varies wildly by area and even different models of phone but recently three have really increased their coverage in my area to the point where signal is the best of any network I think they are still let down by not having any 2G support but this is becoming less of a issue as 3G and 4G is rolled out to more and more areas.

As someone else mentioned get a 30 day sim on each and see how you get on as your area's coverage will be different from some one 2 miles down the road.

Tesco is not allowing tethering, just to let you know.

Nor do Three on that contract. Only the two One Plan contracts allow tethering.

Which one is best really comes down to which offers the best signal in your area and whether you need the extra minutes. In my area O2 offers decent enough signal but performance is crap (still dropped calls etc), whereas Three's frequency means that it has pretty poor penetration of buildings (yet is still often better than its competition for me) and is fantastic when outside. However, your area and usage will vary.

I think 3's one plan for £15pm is hard to beat, both my wife and myself are on it and where we are get great reception.
