Are these the new releases by Nvidia and ATI? I've not seen them on Overclockers yet, but I've seen them on other websites.

Prices on these are astonishing!

4GB PNY Tesla C1060 , PCI-E 2.0 (x16), 800MHz GDDR3, 240 Cores - £1,125.85

6GB PNY Tesla S870 (C870x4), PCI-E (x16), 384x4 Bit GDDR3, 128x4 Cores - £5,252.05

2GB ATI FireStream 9170 GDDR3, 320 Cores, Over 5 GFLOPS per watt - £1,436.79

Anyone actually going to buy one of these? They're on pre-order on the website that I got the prices/stats from, I'm not posting the link to them as it's from another distributer and I'm not sure that's allowed, as it would be advertising them.

Oh and Merry Christmas to you all :)

I assume you realise they are intended for high end graphics professionals and not for your every day user :) They are not normal graphics cards.

I'm pretty sure NV's tesla and ATI's stream cards don't even have display outputs because they're purely for stream computing.

I think they be able to play a few things but dont expect too much as they are as someone stated above for pros doing rendering not gamers.

Tesla/FireStream cards are for GPGPU only and thus have no output ports.

Quadro/FireGL are for pro CAD/3D use and the professional equivalent of the GeForce/Radeon cards. They are pretty similar but are manufacturered to a higher quality and have a different set of drivers.
