stay tuned. more will be coming soon. ;)

Ah this is just plain unfair now, waited for ages, had to buy the DFI, now want this board. *cries*

Good stuff kenofstephen, its definitely nice to see it all coming together, got a full photo of the layout?

Gotta keep in mind, X48 boards IN GENERAL are hard to get hold of. So let it hit mainstream first, and of course OEM mass orders come first...

and where do you buy it? :)

like other have said, benches of fast boards are great but when you can't source them what's the point ....unless this has changed/changing soon??

I'm in no rush to upgrade at the moment, hardware is getting ahead of itself in many regards (if we forget about the graphics card crippling Crysis).

It looks good Kenofstephen, but unless you release it quickly you'll miss the boat. Pretty much everyone is buying the DFI as it's the only reasonably priced X48 in the stores.

To be honest, you should probably try and be the first in the UK with P45 rather than trying to catch up again with X48. As X48 is just the cream of X38, I would have thought it would be easy to get this out in the shops, seeing as how you were almost at point of delivery with the X38 board.

Don't get me started on gigabytes colour scheme. If it was animated id get epilepsy! Though WJA96 is right, DFI has flooded the market with a) a good board, b) good pricing, c) early to the UK market. All of those things put it in a good place. That said, this board is also likely to score well with people in the P35 position looking for crossfireX

the color scheme is accidentally very much like the Intel X48 board...

The problem that J&W now have is that the price-point for X48 isn't £250 anymore - it's £165. And to compete with DFI they'll need to undercut them, by quite bit, given DFI's excellent reputation with enthusiasts. And let's be honest, £165 motherboards are enthusiast motherboards.

It's going to be hard for J&W to bring their board the UK market as an OcUK value board if they both still want to make profit. The suppliers shipping to all the retailers (Gigabyte, DFI, ASUS, MSI) can bring in a container and break it down across the UK, but OcUK have to eat the whole enchilada, so they're unlikely to bring in as many in, in one hit, therefore shipping costs increase. It's almost unfair on J&W to be linked up with OcUK.

X48 is just speed-binned X38, so if I was looking for dual CrossfireX now, I'd buy the Gigabyte X38 DS4 or the ASUS P5E X38.
