I spotted this on the bay a few days ago, and I thought it was worth buying :). I thought some people mind find it interesting so I've put it up here!

It's a Test PS2 that developers used to make sure their games worked. Due to its nature, it has no region locks, and can play unmastered disks. It weighs about twice as much as a normal PS2, probably due to the 40GB hard drive it has.

Here it is:

And compared to a normal PS2:

It's a model number DTL-H30001 E / PS2 Test debug (EU/AU). I tested it by putting a Japanese copy of FFVII in, which booted perfectly. I then tried a burned CD-R of the American Xenogears, which also booted perfectly.

I've ordered some US only PS2 games that never got released over here like Xenosaga I and III, which will be interesting to play :)

Basically copied/downloaded burned onto discs, but no discussion of that allowed here.

The hard drive isn't a standard feature so if he didn't mention it it probably doesn't have one; it's useless anyway for the average person. I can't do anything with mine.

I use mine to play American PS2 games and also it's just cool :p
