I was just flicking through the marketplace and noticed that you can download the Test Drive demo. I thought that was E3 only? Or has it always been there.

50% done....

Ye they archived it away in all demo section. :)

Edit: Although a new improved demo is due in August the first one was really early code so its got a lot of bugs.

a lot of people got invited to Atari things to play game and given right up and said miles better then e3 demo they got to play full game. :D

Full games out 8th September and cant wait. :D

Got a quick TD question so I might as well crash it in here :p

Can you mod the cars or is it like PGR3 and a case of buy, drive, buy another?

Thats the one thing I REALLY missed when going from Forza to PGR2 on the old xbox :( It helped that Forza did it so well, well better than any other game atleast.

Not quite sure how far you can take the modding, but I do know when you buy a car from the dealer you can choose rims, interior styles etc.

That in itself is pretty cool. The way the online play works it would be a shame if all the cars looked the same bar the colour. It would be the don if you could customise the cars to such a degree that you could be driving along and think "Is that ......'s car" without looking at the user name, without relying on the use of lary stickers plastered all over the car that is. I don't quite think we're at that level in gaming yet though.

I quite enjoyed the early demo, even with the bugs it showed so much potential and even the demo map seemed huge!! cant imagine what the full game will be like!

Almost final code demo should be good too

lol then pull up beside them, lower the windows.....and bash them off :D

Ive followed this game from beginning there is going to be 3 stages of engine tuning but thats it i also dont think this will apply to all cars though.

Also when games released there will be downloadable cars not known yet if you will have to pay for them but i beleive there will be new ones every week.

Also radio stations will be updated every month servers can hold 10,000 people online at once and there be no loading this is online and offline game.

Also much much more if want to add me to msn (in trust) feel free can answer any other questions you might have or try to as ive read a lot of stuff.

New demo out soon ill let you all know when its coming cant wait people who got to play latest build recently of it have done write ups which can be found here.

Only 16? That seems a bit limiting considering the potential number of OcUKer here likely to get the game.

Had a quick bash and as you say in your original reply, I'd say that the demo on Live shows a game with lots of potential but needs to be tidied up here and there. I'm not sure what it was, but the handling seemed a little off somehow (perhaps because I've spent the last week playing PGR 3 quite a bit). I like the GTA style world, but I think that just about defines how to drive: mad and crazy rather than carefully finding the racing line. Also not sure of the point of the Police. Lets be honest who is going to drive within the speed limt while getting from A to B while in a Lotus that can do 200mph :D

On the other hand it DOES show a lot of promise and given some good reviews or another demo I'm sure I'd get this game, as it seems like it could offer quite a bit of longevity.

Just played it again. I think the SatNav is a nice feature. The penalty for collisions is not high enough. Hitting a car head on at 200mph should not let me carry on at 100mph. On the flip side it would be game over during a race if it was more realistic and very annoying.

downloaded the demo this morn, only got my 360 yesterday so im new to all this downloadable demos on the go lark. Im loving the game, as other people have said it does need cleanin up a bit here an there but overall it had a LOT of potential. Reminded me a lot of driver for the ps1. I really like how you can be driving along an some random person playing live can challange you, and the fact that it will have ferraris just seals the deal!

Like gib786, i got my 360 yesterday and got the demo down last night. Even for an early version i'm was impressed. Looking forward to the next demo, see whats changed.
