Test Drive Disc Crack

Sometimes when going to play TDU my game refuses to load, other times it gets a unreadable disc error and freezes.

I took the TDU disc to see if it was dirty and it has developed a small crack along the centre of the inside hole. It expands out about 1cm on either side. The disc hasn't even really been out of the console since i bought it at launch yet it has now got a crack.

What do think my chances of returning it are, i bought it from a popular high street store which specialises in games.

My kameo did that but I got it from the MM so I have no receipt

there was a thread a while ago about a cracked disk that shattered inside the xbox when they tried to play it! :eek:

I dunno the dealio these days. But in the PS2 days most games would have a little not ein the back that would say something like "user damaged media replaced fo £5". I never actually tried it (had a couple of damaged ps2 games), but I guess if you send your original to the publisher (hence proving ownership) they give you a new disc for a fiver.

Too lazy to check in the back of any manuals but worth checking. I imagine it would be cheaper than buying the game again.

Take it back to the shop and see if they replace it. No harm in trying.

i recently sent my TDU disc back for this very reason

i also bought it from a popular high street store

i contacted their customer services and they told me to send it to them for inspection. i got a voucher for the value of £40 from them.

they said it was caused by the spindle of the game case, although it cracked when actually in the 360 as i had checked it just before putting it in.

anyway contact the store, you should get it replaced

I went and got another copy of TDU today, only £29.99 in this weeks special offer lol, now i shall try and claim those £40 gift vouchers as fergie mentioned, and if it works, i a tenner up
