I thought it would be usefull to compile information that has been released about Testdrive Unlimited from various sources, as a compendeum of info:

'Drive 150 cars and motorbikes around the curvy roads of Hawaii
Test Drive Unlimited is set on the Hawaiian island of O'ahu. This Hawaiian island has 1,000 miles of road.
Eden Games, the developer behind the superb V-Rally series, has recreated the huge, mountainous island of O’ahu for you to explore in Test Drive Unlimited.

It takes something like two to three hours to drive from one end of the island to the other, depending on what you’re driving and how many times you crash it. But don’t worry, there’s a bookmarking system that lets you save locations and teleport to them; you don’t want to have to drive for two hours every time you want to race someone.

Free Ride Mode
Your bookmarks can be shared with your friends online so you can all meet up for a race. That’s not all. When driving around in Free Ride mode, you can challenge other Free Riding gamers to a race by beeping your horn.
Then you define your race route, because the island is yours to chop up into checkpoints. A map screen and cursor let you choose anywhere and any route for your challenge.
To make it easier to find and race people, the online matchmaking system gives you options like never before,
You can choose to race drivers of specific cars or members of your car club, and plenty of preset team races and mini-games are also planned.
You exist in the game’s Free Ride world with 15 others. These people change on the fly, with new players suited to your abilities and preferences popping in as others leave when they get matched up with others.

Missions
There are ‘shopping girls’ who want a ride downtown, taxi missions, courier jobs and car delivery missions to earn you money and give you a go in a variety of cars.
The number of cars you can have is limited by the size of your garage. When it’s full, stop buying cars and save up to buy a bigger house! '

3 hours to drive across the whole map thats insane lol

Not even a reply not one person interested come on 1000km be aswesome on live all from ocuk driving around and you can choose your own track for race by setting the points on map. :D

Kinda sounds like a flashy GTA without the guns and violence.

I'm not knocking it though, I'm interested to see what it is like when it's out but right now it isn't down on my list.

This has been on my 'Wanted' list for a while now. The idea sounds amazing and very original, whether it can be pulled off, I don't know..

Why would I turn in the street?

It's a console game, it won't be anymore simy than PGR3.

The thought of speeding along the Hawaiian coastline in a Lamborgini in the sun with my own tunes playing, with other peeps online is almost too much to handle! :)

In theory it could be very very good, hunt around for stunning hard to find roads, bookmark it and all race there. The bike bit interests me, I hope you can do bike vs car races :) and they are proper bikes.

It sounds good, but all other Test Drive games have been abysmal!

The first one on the Amiga was good :p (for its time) It was all downhill after that though.

The screens of TD-Unlimited look good but the gameplay needs to be much improved over the other umpteen Test Drive games. Oh and is it 60fps btw? ;)
