I am currently on the "Champion" level on single player but I have finished all of the available single player races, hitchikers etc!?!

I'm on around 690 points and I think you need 1000 to get to the "Ace" level - can this be done without playing the multiplayer races? (which I cant seem to get into since there arent many other onlince players anymore!?!?)

I've read that discovering all the roads on the island unlocks something - is this correct??

Geez how have you played it for so long ? i've had it installed but then cba as the controls are pants
 
I seem to recall that the full 1000 points isn't possible without hacks because of the broken multiplayer - club races I think. It may have changed since I last played, but I gave up on TDU a long time ago.

Which could also be so much better :)
Really enjoyed playing it once I got the hang of the slightly odd handling of the cars. Fix a few bugs, sort out some of the bumps in the roads and get the multiplayer working with more players correctly and you'd have an amazing game :D
 
How well does this game work with a 360 pad?

tempted to re-install tho id have to start again! :/

Detects fine. If I remember correctly you need to manually set the controls though, rather than auto detecting the 360 controls like some newer games do with the 360 pad.

bought this cheaply recently mostly to check out the 'massive' multiplayer feature that got it good reviews when it came out, only to dicover a deserted island??? No-one playing or something wrong? "broken multiplayer" ?
 
i love this game, just the sheer size of the island and all the roads to explore makes it top. ive just recently got back into it, thinking of doing a fresh start again.

theres loads more supras soobs evo's even a ae86 is in progress. anyone up for a meet and a motorway cruise/race?
 
whats the gfx like on max? i liked this on 360 but dont have it no more, can i use my 360 for windows controller on this?

i couldnt even get the motorbikes on this after completing it, i remember it took about an hour i think in the zonda going around the map :D
 
To be fair the graphics are pretty good for a game that came out in 2006. It's great to just get in a fast car (I love it how they got all the licensing) and go bombing round a tropical island.
 
Thanks for all the replies guys!! I didnt realise such an old game would prompt such a response! :D

So are we in agreement that I essentially cant get any further without finding someone online to race against to get some more points?!?! The game is telling me that I have not finished all the hitchiker missions etc - I just cant get access to them until (I assume) I'm on the "Ace" level!!!

Regards to the other comments. the control is amongst the best I've ever come across.......once you get used to it! ;)
I will agree that the multiplayer is awful, a mate of mine and I tried to have a go and we couldnt even get on the same server so we could see each other!!! :confused:

Roll on TDU2!!!!!
