Well, it's my first attempt at a driving test tomorrow at 2pm. I'm not feeling nervous in my head but i'm actually feeling scared to death. I'm kinda in 2 minds :p

Did a practice test today (extended, 55 minutes with all maneouvers) and got 5 minors, 1 major for parallel parking, did it after the mock test perfectly.. typical

I'd rather have parallel park than a bay park.. been crap at those lately.. oh well, here's to a nice instructor!

Good luck m8, dont take cams tablets before you go out might give you the runs. :p

let us know how you got on.

My instructor was very anti social, don't go in expecting a nice, friendly examiner cause the only words they say are hello, where's the dipstick, how would you test if your brake lights were working from inside the car, let's start, pull out, turn right at the next junction etc.

When did they start asking questions like that. I diddnt get any on mine 3 1/2 years ago?

oh and how do you test if you breaks lights are working from inside the car?

To op good luck with the test an let us know what happens!

It's an official test question, I think the answer was to reverse near a wall and put the anchors on or ask someone to go and have a look.

thats an easy one....brick on brake pedal, climb through car, open the boot lid, stick head out, check lights working, climb back through the car, remove brick, drive off. :D

I got a 75 yo examiner talking about his family all the way and showin me pictures, hardly paid attention passed me my sis and my brother so hes the best :p

Woohoo! Passed with 6 minors :D
Instructor said he was quite impressed with my general drive, and the 2 maneouvers, i just did a few silly things like letting the car roll back while waiting at a roundabout.. had to wait nearly 2 minutes to get away from a roundabout, first thing i did on the test, but there were no safe opportunities, so i was ok :p

Was scared to death of doing the parallel park, but did that no problems, which i'm extremely happy with. Can't stop grinning.. time to go and really learn eh ;)

Exactly, and don't think i'm not being serious either!

Congratulations though, 'tis a great feeling when you pass :)

Oh, and how did you manage to take it a day early ;)

wtf is park bay? as in,pulling into a parking spot at tesco? i NEVER did one of them with my instructor,as they dont come up on the test?

The only thing that comes up on the test (well around here anyway) is reverse around a corner/parallel park/turn in the road(3point turn)

Actually yes, they do come up on the test, are a examinable item, and yes your instructor should have taught you it.

Generally they are done in the test centre carpark either at the start of, or the end of your test. Reverse park into a bay I believe.

Actually it depends on your test centre, the Tunbridge Wells test centre car park was deemed 'too small' to perform a bay park and hence they're not allowed to test you on it, and hence my instructor never bothered to teach me :p

Same here, they didn't have any bay parking in my test centre. I wasn't taught it either, I just bay park my own way.

I only realised yesterday i forgot to send the thing off.. how long does it take for them to send it back?
It also said on the dvla site its free, but a related site said its £9 to upgrade your licence.. hope its free!
