YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £239.99
- the most expensive component, but also the most relevant to video editing. This is the best CPU within budget for your needs, and it should serve you well for a long time.
IF you really want, you can downgrade it to a £170 processor, (the same as mine,) but i'd urge you to go all out on this - you're not gonna be building another PC anytime soon :)

1 x **B Grade** **B Grade** MSI HD 7870 Black Knight 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card ( (BG-345-MS) £109.99
- the graphics card works with the CPU when video editing, it'll help keep things smooth and fast when using the software. This graphics card i've chosen is actually enough for gaming as well, so should you fancy it, you can game with at least equivalent graphics of an Xbox One or PS4 ;)

1 x Gigabyte Z87M-D3H Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £82.99
- everything plugs into the motherboard. this one is smaller than mine, to go with the smaller case i've chosen.

1 x Crucial M500 240GB SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive - (CT240M500SSD1) £79.99
- this is a superfast drive to install windows + programs to, and when you're editing a video, it will speed things up to have the video files saved to this drive too, while you're working on them.
you can get a smaller one if you want - 120gb will be enough for windows, other programs + have about 40gb - 60gb left for video files. a 120gb SSD will cost £62, if you ask me, £20 more for double the capacity is a bargain.

1 x Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-Bit DVD - OEM (WN7-00614) £74.99
From what i've read, you might as well use 8.1 over 7 for a new build - it DOES have some benefits, although i personally wouldn't pay £70 to upgrade from 7 to 8.

1 x Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST2000DM001) HDD £59.99
2TB of storage to dump your videos onto, and you should be able to copy all of your old stuff to this drive too.
again, you can downgrade this if you think you can do with less space (your case can hold 3 hard drives, so if you fill this drive, just add another one in :) )

1 x Corsair Hydro H60 V2 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler £49.99
- an aftermarket cooler for your processor - this allows you to overclock your processor and get even more performance from it.
due to the small case, a normal air cooler wouldn't fit. if you did want to save a bit, we could build into a bigger case, with a bigger motherboard, and use an air cooler. the result would be a bit of a saving.
it's up to you.... if you ask me, small is pretty awesome though.

2 x Kingston HyperX Beast 8GB (2x4GB) PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX24C11T3K2/8X) £45.95 (£91.90)
you need LOTS of RAM when video editing. you can't really compromise on the amount. This RAM is cheapest atm, but as long as it's 16gb and 1600Mhz or more, then whichever RAM is cheapest at the time of purchase is best.

1 x Cooler Master N200 NSE-200-KWN1 Midi-Tower Windowed - Black £39.95
- awesome tiny case with a window to admire your PC's insides.
it has space for 3 hard drives, so you shouldn't run out of space anytime soon. it's about £10 more expensive than a standard sized (slightly bigger) case.

1 x SuperFlower Amazon 550W "80 Plus Bronze" Power Supply £35.99
- powersupply is pretty self explanatory; turns 230v into what your PC needs - it's important to get a decent brand, as if it goes pop, then it could damage your other components. Superflower is trusted. :)

1 x Microsoft Wireless Desktop 800 for Business £16.99
- this is more personal preference, but the price of this set seems decent.
you might be better off going to a shop and trying a keyboard and mouse to make sure it suits you.

1 x Pioneer 24x Internal DVR-221LBK DVD Rewriter - OEM £16.99
- i'll check my blu ray reader though and see if it's suitable for your build, if not, then you can either stick with this dvd rewriter, or buy a blu-ray reader for £50ish.

Total : £888

The prices shown here are the benchmark. i'll shop around to see if i can get things cheaper anywhere else.
