testing a power supply

I have just been given a what looks like new antec true 430w psu and really want to just check it to see it is ok, its from my work and apparently everthing in the box was not working but it looks in imaculate condition! Anyone know how to check it, I dont have a multimeter, the only kit i have is a bulb with cables connected.

Any help will be much appreciated

Can't you just hook it up to your computer?

yeah the power supply is an atx 1.1 and mine is an atx2.0 system
