MS installed this with the .net 3.5 update, without any sign it was being installed. I don't want it, so I edited the registry to get rid of it (there wasn't any uninstall option to begin with - MS only added one after complaints).
OK, everything fine...but maybe not. I just updated Firefox from 3 to 3.5. A Firefox update checks all installed plug-ins for compatibility with the new version. It checked Microsoft .NET Framework Assitant plugin - the thing that I thought I had got rid of.
It's not in the plug-ins list...but why would FF check it for compatiibility if it isn't installed?
