Testing hardware

I installed my e2180 and IP35-e motherboard, reformatted hard-disk and I'm sure I have all the drivers installed and DX9c, done a full Windows Update too.

All in game videos (cut scenes) are really choppy, visually and sound.

Call of Duty 4 in-game runs great but Team Fortress 2 is really slow, a few artifacts too.

Just wondering what it could be?

Are you sure you have the right video drivers? What card is it and what OS are you using?

XP Pro,

The artefact's have gone but still reaaalllly slow, not like lag, it's slow motion in-game the videos are just choppy.

I got the 8800GTS drivers off Nvidia site, latest (163.71_forceware_winxp_32bit_international_whql).

Just updated to Beta drivers and no luck.

300fps in TF2, I limited it to 60fps and still getting bad slow-motion, it's really weird.

Found the problem, DIMM1 on my Motherboard doesn't work, so I moved my RAM from DIMM1 to DIMM3 (so I had a stick in DIMM2 and DIMM3 = 2gb) and it works fine now.

Kinda sucks, I don't think I'll send it back as I don't need all 4 slots anyway but not too nice to know it's broken.

dont you want your ram ni slot 1+3 or 2+4 for dual channel? or is your mobo different?
