Testing memory?

Well, it isn't unheard of boards (mainly nvidia, although not the new one which you have) to bork ram. Did you check the sticker on the ram to make sure you set the correct voltage and timings?

Is it only during games/3d apps its crashing?

Voltage and speed specified on the Mem sticks is 1.8v and 1600Mhz respectively. Double checked within the settings and both have been set correctly. The freeze has happened regularly in high demand 3D games but has also happened during Internet Explorer and even when no software running at all (apart from Windows and Int Security).
The firm that built the machine said that they would bring it back in if the new sticks didn't work so I guess this will be the next step. Thanks for your help.

My 2x256mb sticks run fine - no blue screens of death and no errors in memtest86.

My two new 2x512mb sticks do not run fine - blue screens of death and errors reported on both sticks in memtest86 (togethor, and individually, in both mem slots).

I'm running my shuttle system absolutely at stock. No manual config at all... I don't think you even can change the memory voltage!

The memory sticks which I got second hand off the members market are - 2 x Corsair VS512MB400C3 (http://www.corsair.com/products/value_select.aspx)

Just find it odd BOTH are showing faults!
Right, my two new Geil dimms (2x512mb) work fine... Memtest86 ran for an hour with no problems. I put one of the corsair sticks back in and problems were detected within 10-20 mins...

The one odd things is I have a little program called MemMon, and when I now run this with the new Geil ram I get an overflow error 6!!! Just can't win! Oh well! Close enough :)

So that Corsair memory I was sold on the members market seems narked!
