hi so not sure if motherboard is broke or not so want to test it out of the case and was wondering what you would place it on ?
would something like a chopping block do or would i need a rubber mat for it ?
testing the pcie lane as it works with a 8800gs and 5770 in it but not with a 480 in .
cheers mel

It the PCi lane works with the other cards then it is the card and not the board.

I guess it's possible that the board and card have some underlying incompatibility issue with each other, that wouldn't be present with either a different Motherboard or different GPU.

dont know what t do,
when i put card in 2nd slot the card lights up with green lights on back off 480 and screen posts message " card not in sli" so i get a screen but nothing when in slot 1, just long beep then 2/3 short beeps.

Using one of your working cards, is it possible to boot into the BIOS and change any of the PCIe settings, such as lane distribution (16x/8x/4x)? Or possibly up the PCIe bus speed to 101MHz from 100MHz?

Might not acheive anything, but got to be worth a go?
