Testing my enermax Galaxy.....

I thought I'd test my Enermax Galaxy PSU by shorting it out since I don't have my mobo yet. Neways it's a lot louder then I'd thought it will be and just wana know whether testing it this way makes it spin at maximum rpm? Also maybe cos I don't have anywhere to plug in the rpm monitoring 3 pin connector. Is my PSU at it's loudest or quietest? Thanks

Let me tell you though, It's nowhere near as loud as my laptop which I can still hear on the other side of my flat about 15 metres away

I don't know much about that PSU. But most PSU's will spin the fan up and down depending on either the temperature or the load. Both of these will be low using a PSU tester so I would expect it to run quieter than when it was actually in use in a real PC.
