Ive had a few problems with my PC and its looking like possible suspect Ram :(. Im using a pair setup of Geil Value PC3200 2x512mb.
Is it a good idea to test these sticks as singles(eq remove 1 stick) or is there another way of testing these sticks? I do have an pair in another PC i can check with as well but wondering if its ok to run the PC with just the 1 stick from the pair?

Cheers

I would run memtest86+ overnight with 1 stick at a time. Bootable images of memtest are free to download. just google it.

I test individually because if tested together the faulty stick (if there is one) is not easily identified.

I have had problems in the past where instability has been the result of which slots on the board I populate. It's always worthwhile, if the memory passes all tests, to try the sticks in different slots if mobo allows.

My old system (Abit AN7/Ballistix) is like this. Depending on which slots I use, it is either rock solid or crashes within 5 minutes.

good luck
