Like that a lot AE, really striking image. Are the rocks light painted or naturally lit from an external source?
Either way it works and I can see that image on someones bathroom wall somewhere! :D

I'd be tempted to either crop whatever that is on the bottom right or clone it out.

Apart from that how you finding the D810. I've had mine 2 weeks now but have been so busy not really had time to play

I'm not a fan to be honest, sorry. :( I don't like the extreme contrast between the rocks and the sea behind, and the sea looks like a strange painting. I do like the colours in the sky.

How long was the exposure?

Fantastic image

I'd love to know about the lighting too ;)

Thanks, it was lit by an outdoor light on a hotel. The whole scene looked pretty much black to the naked eye though. I was a little nervous taking it as I was on the edge of a cliff with zero visibility except for the light of my iphone. The only way to focus was setting camera to ISO 12800 F1.8 and taking a longish shot, then manually adjusting the lens until sharp, before setting the camera back down to ISO 64 F Something (either 2.8 or 5.6 can't remember as I shot at both of those apertures).

Definitely stands out but the tips look too bright for me :/

Cool shot :)

Yeh this was just a quick edit, might take those tips down a bit when I get time.

That's cool, unless you were trying to be a #@%, which I don't think you were/are, theres no need for sorry or sad face. :)

The shot was taken in multiple exposure mode. 10 RAW frames of 30 seconds, blended in camera into 1 RAW (Nef).

I think it's great tbh. It's a bigger upgrade than I thought it would be. Just things like it being quieter makes me feel more confident about releasing the shutter, and the better tracking hit rate makes me feel a little more confident when shooting couples walking even at F1.4 at fairly close range.
I could go on and on...

The last one is definitely the best, good composition and nicely processed.

The first is nice but I think the light on the rocks is all wrong. It's too cold for the rest of the scene IMO, can you isolate it and warm the light up a little? I also think the whole image is a little dark. Love the colour of the sky and the water though.

First one looks computer generated, like it's had tons of pp or was made in blender, I don't think it works well. I like post #9, though it still looks artificial, #11 I like, looks more natural.

Agree with sentiments on first one but last ones I really like. Could maybe have used those lines of rocks as lead in lines if it was possible to get to the right vantage point?

They are different to your usual landscape of the beach at least.

Your, as in general stuff you see, not yours specifically.
