Is 1 hour for each test a sufficient amount of time to test for a stable overclock?

Thanks.

PS: Using AMD Overdrive.

So basically, don't use Overdrive?

If not, i'll refer to the beginners guide.

I usually run 10-15 minutes of prime95 for an uncertain OC, if it passes I try push higher etc.

When it comes to a OC that I'm going to stick with then I run prime for 3+ hours and game the hell out of the machine :) nothing beats COD, BL, L4D2 and SupCom to stress a PC in ways a stress test can't ;)

Most people will reccommend 8+ hours of prime to ensure stability.

Personally I run a stress test for 1 hour on each intermediate OC. If there's one I think I might want to stay on, I run it for 2 hours, and see how that goes for a week.

Currently I'm having problems with this stage though. Recently found out that OCZ memory doesn't seem to mesh well with Gigabyte motherboards.. Of course, this is the setup I have.

Got some new Corsair on the way though. I'll be trying again after that.

when testing an oc i like to run core damage for an hour or so. linx is good but core damage seems to push 20c harder than any other program ive used

3.6Ghz appears to be the place for stability for me, considering the factor of warmer days in the summer as well.
