Just had an update about this site from the vendor of my firewall - Comodo. Tried a few of the tests and one [ghost] succeeded in sending info out, most attempts were blocked by the firewall. Worth having a look and seeing how you get on!

;)

I tried Comodo's own tests and my Comodo Internet security failed two out of the three. Time to change security programs i think.

Does it actually tell you how the test managed to get data out? I can't try it myself at the moment (on a Mac).

You might not need change firewall software - it may just need configuring better.

Don't you have to click on executables ( and grant them privileges? ) to run these tests? Kind of defeats the purpose.

Heh, can't even download the tests - NOD32 flags 'em as malware.

Will turn it off and give it another go later.

Yikes, time to get a different software firewall, vista inbuilt failed pretty much everything :o also have a hardware firewall :/

Always struck me as somewhat retarded that vistas outbound filtering is off by default. I guess microsoft figured they'd be inundated with support queries from novices "Is it OK to let such-and-such access the interweb?".

I don't know if it's because I am over cautious, but that site looks pretty dodgy for something supposedly operated by Comodo.

A Whois check does confirm it is owned by comodo group though, so it most likely is 100% genuine. Certainly looks a little sus though

While its good the AVs are flagging them, the packages won't be going to any great lengths to hide what they do.

So has anyone gotten any interesting results they'd like to share? :)
