How long did it take you to learn to drive?

Hours of professional tuition? 12, less one test's worth.

Test attempts? 1

Minors? 3 (2 observation, one clutch control).

Years to 1st crash? 4 and still counting.

23 hours, 1 attempt, 3 minors, no crashes but only been driving for 6 months.

Although one of the minors was not entirely my fault. For the emergency stop, my instructor told me to get up to 20mph and sit there until told to brake. Did this in my test and got a minor for not going higher than 20

April 99, lessons till Dec 99, add my and instructors holiday then the fuel protest of 1999 (you kids dony know what a fuel protest when you see cars queuing half a mile up the road for no reason other than panic) the then winter had a test cancelled due to ice then passed early December, first time 3 minors, still going strong zero accidents £29 a month insurance, I dont like to gloat but I will :D

Happy chappy.

Passed on 2nd attempt after 16 lessons. I passed 3 days before the 15 minor limit, with 16 minors :D

8 hours.
1 attempt.
3 minors.

First crash? Bout 6 months. Second one was awful, so lucky to walk out unscathed, showing off. Rest were just stupidity.

Didn't count the hours, but from late May to early October(2nd) with a few gaps.
2 attempts:
Couldn't get it in first at a roundabout like a fool, 3 minors, observation, 2 appropriate speed (NSL country road, think he was a touch harsh)

Second attempt, 1 minor for i forget what exactly, but waiting at the lights, old man suddenly steps on the road as i am slowly pulling away, came to a stop he then waved me on, i should have let him cross...

No idea how many hours, I started learning at the end of March/beginning of April 2004, passed in October 2004 first time, with 5 minors IIRC. No crashes yet, touch wood!

took me exactly a year but with a long lay off due to a broken ankle so best say about 8 months. 4 tests, two before my injury two after, less than 5 minors on all of them :D

One I passed was 2 minors.

Had a very minor bump (No damage, no problems) in september.

Passed first time at 9:45 on morning of 17th birthday, after no professional tuition. Have had no crashes or collisions or accidents of anykind, at all (on public roads anyway ;)) in 24 years of driving.

car - 25 hours - 2 attempts, cant remember how many minors - 10 years ago - no crashes on road, but crashed a BT van while moving it on private property (at work - not for BT)
bike - 3 days - 1st attempt - 7 minors - 2motnhs ago.
