Tethered shooting with D40x, help.

Hi there

I've been trying all day to shoot tethered to my laptop but it just isn't happening.

I've tried the following apps:

Nikon Capture Control 4.4.2 (dosent detect the camera)
Bibble Pro (I did what it says in the help, but nothing happens when I shoot a pic and the pic gets saved to SD card like normal)
Capture One 3.7 (dosen't support d40x, but thaught i'd give it a go anyway)

Is it even possible to shoot tethered with the d40x? I've tried searching google but can't find anything.

Thanks for any help.

EDIT: forgot to mention i have it in PTP mode, not mass storage.

Am interested in this thread as i also have a D40x.

All i can suggest is removing the SD card and see what happens

I tried taking the card out while connected via PTP, and it gives this error message: "Insert a memory card if taking pictures with the camera connected to a computer." it also locks the sutter release.

I even tried disabling the No SD card release lock, but it still locks the release when in connected in PTP mode.
