Is anyone shooting tethered to an iPad/Android device? In particular, using the tablet to control the camera, rather than just putting an Eye-Fi card in. I'm considering this as and would be interested to hear views of how good this set-up is.

My wife and I each have a 5D2. She asked me to investigate tethered shooting/control for landscapes and timelapse work. The idea being that a decent size screen would give a better opportunity to compose and focus accurately, particularly with our new tilt-shift lenses. Another possible benefit might be easy and accurate long exposures, without purchasing a separate remote control.

I think hubby is refering to the HTC One X more as a controller in place of a remote release, rather than using the phone as a reasonable viewing method.
We've got a netbook which I might use for live-view tethering, as the cost of a decent alternative set-up is looking prohibitive (My original thinking stemmed from wondering whether something like the Kobo Vox could be used whilst doubling up as an e-reader).
