Hi

I've recently signed up to BT infinity, when I signed up I didn't know that BT would phone me a day later and tell me they couldn't take over the line and have the engineer come over at the same time!
So judging by the time slots I was given the first time around it will be two weeks before I get connected and I really need some sort of connection in that time.
So is it possible to tether the WiFi hotspot on my phone (andriod) to an old DD-WRT router I've got kicking around the house?
I won't be able to connect my laptop, iPad etc directly as the 3G signal dies in the room I need a connection plus the misses uses it upstairs and my main computer is wired so I need to get it to a device I can plug an Ethernet cable too.

If anyone could help me with this I would be very great full.

many thanks

You should be able to use the wireless bridge router mode. My younger brother uses the mode to extend the range of the main router my parents have in their house. The router is set up so it creates an additional wireless network but the routing is transparent. He plugs his desktop computer into the router with an ethernet cable and I connect to the additional wireless network whenever I am there.

i.e.

[main router] <------- wireless ---------> [DD-WRT]

[DD-WRT] <------- cable -------> brother's desktop computer
[DD-WRT] <------- wireless ----> my laptop

You should be able to substitute [main router] for your phone and get the DD-WRT router to log into the phone's AP as a normal wireless client.
