Is it me, or is it just ****?

I normally use Shell V Power which gives me fantastic milage and a noticable smooth performance over the usual super market tripe.

But, I have been using Texaco over the last 3/4 months as its the closest to my new house.

The other day, I filled up with Shell V Power and the difference was shocking. Stuck a 10er of Texaco in the other day, and bike instantly back to the groggy self it has been for several months.

Is it even possible for a different brand of petrol to make such a difference in terms of performance/smoothness and overal mileage?

Will just have to travel 10 miles round trip each time to fill up with Shell V Power from now on lol.

Always try to use V-Power in the 1098R , maybe its a placebo effect but nothing else seems to give me the same 'feel' and the bike feels rough.

Yea, my 748 hates anything but, I genuinly don't think it's a placebo effect, the throttle response seems to be 'tighter' and smoother if that makes sense?

It's you, or your bike is particularly fussy. I've tried supermarket (Sainsbury) Premium and Super, and Shell Premium and Optimax in my RSV and I can't tell any difference in performance or mileage. Same result on my car.

There is no difference.
Over the years I have never got any benefit either in "feel" or performance or MPG from using supermarket petrol to any other brand, premium or normal.
Even when I've owned a car or bike that would supposedly benefit from sticking V power or whatever in there, there has been no difference.

The only noticeable change in performance I notice is when you are driving/riding on a nice chilly morning and you seem to get that crisper throttle response.
